I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is HlaleIe Neo Motaung, an independent filmmaker, proud father, and spoken word artist known as Preacher Technique. I write to you today with immense passion and excitement about my upcoming Sesotho feature film, Majakoto.
Having been born in the Vaal triangle and raised in the Free State Qwa-Qwa, I have always carried a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes of my homeland. It is this love and admiration that has driven me to embark on the journey of creating Majakoto, a film that aims to bring the vibrant essence of Sotho life in the Maluti mountains and its captivating waterfalls to the big screen.
I am thrilled to share that I have been able to assemble an incredibly talented and dedicated cast of five lead characters who are already making waves in their acting careers. Their casting agents were impressed with the visual presentation and the compelling storyline of Majakoto. Majakoto tells a powerful and gripping tale of two tribes that once coexisted harmoniously in the region. However, an era of strife and discord has left them at odds with each other. It is through the love and humanity displayed by certain individuals from these warring families that we hope to restore peace and foster economic growth. One land holds the precious resource of diamonds, while the other possesses the map to even greater hidden treasures. Only time will unveil the fate of these lands and the destiny of their people.
This film is not merely a captivating story; it is a celebration of our cultural heritage, a tribute to the resilient spirit of the Sotho people, and an opportunity to showcase the mesmerizing beauty of the Maluti mountains and its surrounding landscapes. Majakoto will immerse audiences in the rich tapestry of our traditions, allowing them to witness the triumph of love over division and the enduring power of unity.
However, I could not undertake this ambitious project alone as I have worked with a group of smart individuals with an amazing skill set and knowledge of macro set on an international scale to develop necessary technicalities we needed to reach this point.
